ܗܝܕܝܢ ܐܡܪ ܫܠܝܡܘܢ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܢܬ ܐܡܪܬ ܠܡܫܪܐ ܒܥܪܦܠܐ

Then Solomon said, “Yahweh has said that he would dwell in the thick darkness.

ܘܐܢܐ ܡܒܢܐ ܒܢܝܬ ܒܝܬܐ ܠܟ ܕܘܟܬܐ ܠܫܟܝܢܬܟ ܠܥܠܡܝܢ
lelmyn lshkynthk dwkth' lk byth' bnyth mbn' w'n'
But I have built you a house and home, a place for you to dwell in forever.”

ܘܐܦܢܝ ܡܠܟܐ ܐܦܘ̈ܗܝ ܘܒܪܟ ܠܟܘܠܗܝܢ ܟܢܘ̈ܫܬܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܐܝܠ ܘܟܘܠܗܝܢ ܟܢܘ̈ܫܬܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܩܝܡ̈ܢ

The king turned his face, and blessed all the assembly of Israel; and all the assembly of Israel stood.

ܘܐܡܪ ܒܪܝܟ ܗܘ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܕܡܠܠ ܒܦܘܡܗ ܥܡ ܕܘܝܕ ܐܒܝ ܘܒܡܠܬܗ ܐܫܪ ܡܕܡ ܕܐܡܪ
d'mr mdm 'shr wbmlthh 'by dwyd em bpwmh dmll d'ysryl 'lh' mry' hw bryk w'mr
He said, “Blessed be Yahweh, the God of Israel, who spoke with his mouth to David my father, and has with his hands fulfilled it, saying,

ܕܡܢ ܝܘܡܐ ܕܐܦܩܬ ܠܥܡܝ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܡܢ ܐܪܥܐ ܕܡܨܪܝܢ ܠܐ ܓܒܝܬ ܠܝ ܩܪܝܬܐ ܡܢ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܫܒ̈ܛܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܠܡܒܢܐ ܒܝܬܐ ܕܢܗܘܐ ܫܡܝ ܬܡܢ
thmn shmy dnhw' byth' lmbn' d'ysryl shbT' klhwn mn qryth' ly gbyth l' dmtsryn 're' mn 'ysryl lemy d'pqth ywm' dmn
‘Since the day that I brought my people out of the land of Egypt, I chose no city out of all the tribes of Israel to build a house in, that my name might be there, and I chose no man to be prince over my people Israel;

ܘܓܒܝܬ ܠܕܘܝܕ ܕܢܗܘܐ ܡܠܟܐ ܥܠ ܥܡܝ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ
'ysryl emy el mlk' dnhw' ldwyd wgbyth
but now I have chosen Jerusalem, that my name might be there; and I have chosen David to be over my people Israel.’

ܘܗܘܐ ܒܠܒܗ ܕܕܘܝܕ ܐܒܝ ܠܡܒܢܐ ܒܝܬܐ ܠܫܡܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ
d'ysryl 'lh' dmry' lshmh byth' lmbn' 'by ddwyd blbh whw'
Now it was in the heart of David my father to build a house for the name of Yahweh, the God of Israel.

ܘܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܠܕܘܝܕ ܐܒܝ ܡܟܝܠ ܕܗܘܐ ܒܠܒܟ ܠܡܒܢܐ ܒܝܬܐ ܠܫܡܝ ܐܛܐܒܬ ܡܛܘܠ ܕܗܘܐ ܒܠܒܟ
blbk dhw' mTwl 'T'bth lshmy byth' lmbn' blbk dhw' mkyl 'by ldwyd mry' w'mr
But Yahweh said to David my father, ‘Whereas it was in your heart to build a house for my name, you did well that it was in your heart;

ܐܢܬ ܕܝܢ ܠܐ ܬܒܢܐ ܒܝܬܐ ܐܠܐ ܒܪܟ ܕܢܦ̇ܩ ܡܢ ܚܨܟ ܗܘ ܢܒܢܐ ܒܝܬܐ ܠܫܡܝ
lshmy byth' nbn' hw khtsk mn dnpq brk 'l' byth' thbn' l' dyn 'nth
nevertheless you shall not build the house, but your son who will come out of your body, he shall build the house for my name.’

ܘܐܩܝܡ ܡܪܝܐ ܦܬܓܡܘ̈ܗܝ ܕܐܡܪ ܘܩܡܬ ܡܢ ܒܬܪ ܕܘܝܕ ܐܒܝ ܘܝܬܒܬ ܥܠ ܟܘܪܣܝܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܕܐܡܪ ܠܝ ܡܪܝܐ ܘܒܢܝܬ ܒܝܬܐ ܠܫܡܗ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ
d'ysryl 'lh' dmry' lshmh byth' wbnyth mry' ly d'mr 'ykn' d'ysryl kwrsy' el wythbth 'by dwyd bthr mn wqmth d'mr pthgmwhy mry' w'qym
“Yahweh has performed his word that he spoke; for I have risen up in the place of David my father, and sit on the throne of Israel, as Yahweh promised, and have built the house for the name of Yahweh, the God of Israel.

ܘܐܬܩܢܬ ܕܘܟܬܐ ܠܩܒܘܬܐ ܕܒܗ̇ ܣܝܡܐ ܕܝܬܩܐ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܕܝܗܒ ܠܐܒܗ̈ܬܢ ܟܕ ܐܦܩ ܐܢܘܢ ܡܢ ܐܪܥܐ ܕܡܨܪܝܢ
dmtsryn 're' mn 'nwn 'pq kd l'bhthn dyhb dmry' dythq' sym' dbh lqbwth' dwkth' w'thqnth
There I have set the ark, in which is Yahweh’s covenant, which he made with the children of Israel.”

ܘܩܡ ܫܠܝܡܘܢ ܩܕܡ ܡܕܒܚܐ ܕܡܪܝܐ ܩܕܡ ܟܢ̈ܘܫܬܐ ܟܠܗܝܢ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܘܦܪܣ ܐܝܕܘ̈ܗܝ ܠܘܬ ܫܡܝܐ
shmy' lwth 'ydwhy wprs d'ysryl klhyn knwshth' qdm dmry' mdbkh' qdm shlymwn wqm
He stood before Yahweh’s altar in the presence of all the assembly of Israel, and spread out his hands

ܘܥܒܕ ܫܠܝܡܘܢ ܐܣܛܘܢܐ ܚܕ ܕܢܚܫܐ ܘܐܩܝܡܗ ܗܘܐ ܡܨܥܬ ܕܪܬܐ ܪܘܡܗ ܚܡܫ ܐܡ̈ܝܢ ܘܦܬܝܗ ܬܪܬܝܢ ܐܡ̈ܝܢ ܘܣܠܩ ܗܘܐ ܘܩܡ ܥܠܘܗܝ ܘܒܪܟ ܥܠ ܒܘܪ̈ܟܘܗܝ ܘܚ̇ܙܝܢ ܗܘܘ ܠܗ ܟܠܗ ܥܡܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܘܦܪܣ ܐܝܕܘ̈ܗܝ ܒܨܠܘܬܐ ܠܥܝܢ ܥܡܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܠܘܬ ܫܡܝܐ

(for Solomon had made a bronze platform, five cubits long, five cubits wide, and three cubits high, and had set it in the middle of the court; and he stood on it, and knelt down on his knees before all the assembly of Israel, and spread out his hands toward heaven).

ܘܨܠܝ ܘܐܡܪ ܡܪܝܐ ܡܪ̈ܘܬܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܠܝܬ ܐܟܘܬܟ ܐܢܬ ܗܘ ܡܪܝܐ ܕܝܬ̇ܒ ܐܢܬ ܒܫܡܝܐ ܡܢ ܠܥܠ ܘܨܒܝܢ̈ܝܟ ܡܬܥܒܕܝܢ ܥܠ ܐܪܥܐ ܡܢ ܠܬܚܬ ܕܢܛ̇ܪ ܐܢܬ ܕܝܬܩܐ ܘܚܣܕܐ ܠܥܒ̣ܕ̈ܝܟ ܕܡܗܠܟܝܢ ܩܕܡܝܟ ܬܪܝܨܐܝܬ ܒܟܠܗ ܠܒܗܘܢ

Then he said, “Yahweh, the God of Israel, there is no God like you in heaven or on earth—you who keep covenant and loving kindness with your servants who walk before you with all their heart;

ܕܢܛܪܬ ܠܕܘܝܕ ܐܒܝ ܡܕܡ ܕܐܡܪܬ ܠܗ ܘܡܠܠܬ ܒܦܘܡܟ ܘܒܨܒܝܢܟ ܫܠܡܬ ܐܝܟ ܕܝܘܡܢܐ
dywmn' 'yk shlmth wbtsbynk bpwmk wmllth lh d'mrth mdm 'by ldwyd dnTrth
who have kept with your servant David my father that which you promised him. Yes, you spoke with your mouth, and have fulfilled it with your hand, as it is today.

ܘܐܦ ܗܫܐ ܡܪܐ ܡܪ̈ܘܬܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܛܪ ܠܥܒ̣ܕܟ ܕܘܝܕ ܐܒܝ ܡܕܡ ܕܐܡܪܬ ܠܗ ܕܠܐ ܢܥܢܕ ܠܟ ܒܪܐ ܡܢ ܩܕܡܝ ܕܝܬ̇ܒ ܥܠ ܟܘܪܣܝܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܒܠܚܘܕ ܐܢܗܘ ܕܢܛܪܘܢ ܒܢܝ̈ܟ ܐܘܪ̈ܚܬܗܘܢ ܠܡܗܠܟܘ ܩܕܡܝ ܒܢܡܘ̈ܣܝ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܕܗܠܟܬ ܐܢܬ ܩܕܡܝ

“Now therefore, Yahweh, the God of Israel, keep with your servant David my father that which you have promised him, saying, ‘There shall not fail you a man in my sight to sit on the throne of Israel, if only your children take heed to their way, to walk in my law as you have walked before me.’

ܘܡܟܝܠ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܐ ܕܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܢܬܗܝܡܢܘܢ ܡܟܝܠ ܦܬܓܡ̈ܝܟ ܕܡܠܠܬ ܠܕܘܝܕ ܐܒܝ ܥܒ̣ܕܟ
ebdk 'by ldwyd dmllth pthgmyk mkyl nthhymnwn d'ysryl 'lh' mry' wmkyl
Now therefore, Yahweh, the God of Israel, let your word be verified, which you spoke to your servant David.

ܡܛܠ ܕܒܗܝܡܢܘܬܐ ܐܫܪܝ ܡܪܝܐ ܫܟܝܢܬܗ ܥܡ ܥܡܗ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܥܠ ܐܪܥܐ ܗܐ ܫܡܝܐ ܘܫܡ̈ܝ ܫܡܝܐ ܠܐ ܡܣܝܒܪܝܢ ܠܟ ܐܠܐ ܟܢ ܗܢܐ ܒܝܬܐ ܕܒܢܝܬ

“But will God indeed dwell with men on the earth? Behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens can’t contain you; how much less this house which I have built!

ܘܬܬܦܢܐ ܥܠ ܨܠܘܬܗ ܕܥܒ̣ܕܟ ܘܥܠ ܒܥܘܬܗ ܡܪܝܐ ܐܠܗܝ ܠܡܫܡܥ ܠܨܠܘܬܐ ܘܠܒܥܘܬܐ ܕܥܒ̣ܕܟ ܡܨܠܐ ܩܕܡܝܟ ܝܘܡܢܐ
ywmn' qdmyk mtsl' debdk wlbewth' ltslwth' lmshme 'lhy mry' bewthh wel debdk tslwthh el wththpn'
Yet have respect for the prayer of your servant and to his supplication, Yahweh my God, to listen to the cry and to the prayer which your servant prays before you;

ܗܐ ܠܡܗܘܐ ܩܕܡܝܟ ܝ̇ܕܥ ܠܡܫܡܥ ܒܩܠ ܨܠܘܬܗ ܕܡܢ ܕܢܐܬܐ ܘܢܨܠܐ ܩܕܡܝܟ ܒܒܝܬܐ ܗܢܐ ܒܠܠܝܐ ܘܒܐܝܡܡܐ ܗ̇ܝ ܕܘܟܬܐ ܕܐܡܪܬ ܠܡܫܪܝܘ ܫܟܝܢܬܟ ܬܡܢ
thmn shkynthk lmshryw d'mrth dwkth' hy wb'ymm' blly' hn' bbyth' qdmyk wntsl' dn'th' dmn tslwthh bql lmshme yde qdmyk lmhw' h'
that your eyes may be open toward this house day and night, even toward the place where you have said that you would put your name, to listen to the prayer which your servant will pray toward this place.

ܠܡܫܡܥ ܒܨܠܘܬܐ ܕܥܒ̣ܕܟ ܘܕܥܡܟ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܕܡܨܠܐ ܩܕܡܝܟ ܒܕܘܟܬܐ ܗܕܐ ܘܐܢܬ ܬܫܡܥ ܡܢ ܕܘܟܬܐ ܕܡܘܬܒܟ ܡܢ ܫܡܝܐ ܘܬܫܡܥ ܘܬܫܒܘܩ
wthshbwq wthshme shmy' mn dmwthbk dwkth' mn thshme w'nth hd' bdwkth' qdmyk dmtsl' 'ysryl wdemk debdk btslwth' lmshme
Listen to the petitions of your servant and of your people Israel, when they pray toward this place. Yes, hear from your dwelling place, even from heaven; and when you hear, forgive.

ܐܢ ܗܘ ܕܢܣܟܠ ܒܪܢܫܐ ܒܚܒܪܗ ܘܢܦܣܘܩ ܥܠܘܗܝ ܡܘ̈ܡܬܐ ܠܡܘܡܝܘܬܗ ܘܢܐܬܐ ܘܢܐܡܐ ܩܕܡ ܡܕܒܚܟ ܒܒܝܬܐ ܗܢܐ

“If a man sins against his neighbor, and an oath is laid on him to cause him to swear, and he comes and swears before your altar in this house,

ܘܐܢܬ ܬܫܡܥ ܒܩܠ ܨܠܘܬܗܘܢ ܡܢ ܕܘܟܬܟ ܡܢ ܫܡܝܐ ܘܬܥܒܕ ܘܬܕܘܢ ܠܥܒ̣̈ܕܝܟ ܠܡܚܝܒܘ ܠܚܝܒܐ ܘܠܡܬܠ ܐܘܪܚܗ ܒܪܫܗ ܘܠܡܙܕܩܘ ܠܙܕܝܩܐ ܘܠܡܬܠ ܠܗ ܐܝܟ ܙܕܝܩܘܬܗ
zdyqwthh 'yk lh wlmthl lzdyq' wlmzdqw brshh 'wrkhh wlmthl lkhyb' lmkhybw lebdyk wthdwn wthebd shmy' mn dwkthk mn tslwthhwn bql thshme w'nth
then hear from heaven, act, and judge your servants, bringing retribution to the wicked, to bring his way on his own head; and justifying the righteous, to give him according to his righteousness.

ܘܐܢܗܘ ܕܢܬܬܒܪ ܥܡܟ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܩܕܡ ܒܥܠܕ̈ܒܒܐ ܟܕ ܢܚܛܘܢ ܩܕܡܝܟ ܘܢܗܦܟܘܢ ܠܘܬܟ ܘܢܘܕܘܢ ܠܫܡܟ ܪܒܐ ܘܢܨܠܘܢ ܘܢܒܥܘܢ ܡܢ ܩܕܡܝܟ ܒܒܝܬܐ ܗܢܐ
hn' bbyth' qdmyk mn wnbewn wntslwn rb' lshmk wnwdwn lwthk wnhpkwn qdmyk nkhTwn kd beldbb' qdm 'ysryl emk dnththbr w'nhw
“If your people Israel are struck down before the enemy because they have sinned against you, and they turn again and confess your name, and pray and make supplication before you in this house,

ܘܐܢܬ ܬܫܡܥ ܡܢ ܫܡܝܐ ܘܬܫܒܘܩ ܠܚ̈ܛܗܘܗܝ ܕܥܡܟ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܘܬܗܦܟ ܐܢܘܢ ܠܐܪܥܐ ܕܝܗܒܬ ܠܗܘܢ ܘܠܐܒܗ̈ܝܗܘܢ
wl'bhyhwn lhwn dyhbth l're' 'nwn wthhpk 'ysryl demk lkhThwhy wthshbwq shmy' mn thshme w'nth
then hear from heaven, and forgive the sin of your people Israel, and bring them again to the land which you gave to them and to their fathers.

ܘܟܕ ܢܬܟܠܘܢ ܫܡܝܐ ܘܠܐ ܢܗܘܐ ܡܛܪܐ ܟܕ ܢܚܛܘܢ ܩܕܡܝܟ ܘܢܨܠܘܢ ܩܕܡܝܟ ܒܕܘܟܬܐ ܗܕܐ ܘܢܘܕܘܢ ܠܫܡܟ ܪܒܐ ܘܡܢ ܚܛܗ̈ܝܗܘܢ ܢܗܦܟܘܢ ܡܛܠ ܕܬܥܢܐ ܐܢܘܢ

“When the sky is shut up and there is no rain because they have sinned against you, if they pray toward this place and confess your name, and turn from their sin when you afflict them,

ܘܐܢܬ ܬܫܡܥ ܒܩܠ ܨܠܘܬܗܘܢ ܡܢ ܫܡܝܐ ܘܬܫܒܘܩ ܠܚܛܗ̈ܘܗܝ ܕܥܒ̣ܕܟ ܘܕܥܡܟ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܡܛܠ ܕܬܠܦ ܐܢܘܢ ܐܘܪܚܟ ܫܦܝܪܬܐ ܕܢܐܙܠܘܢ ܒܗ̇ ܘܬܬܠ ܡܛܪܐ ܕܒܘܪܟܬܐ ܥܠ ܐܪܥܐ ܕܝܗܒܬ ܒܝܪܬܘܬܗ ܕܥܡܟ
demk byrthwthh dyhbth 're' el dbwrkth' mTr' wththl bh dn'zlwn shpyrth' 'wrkhk 'nwn dthlp mTl 'ysryl wdemk debdk lkhThwhy wthshbwq shmy' mn tslwthhwn bql thshme w'nth
then hear in heaven, and forgive the sin of your servants, your people Israel, when you teach them the good way in which they should walk, and send rain on your land, which you have given to your people for an inheritance.

ܘܟܦܢܐ ܟܕ ܢܗܘܐ ܒܐܪܥܐ ܘܡܘܬܢܐ ܟܕ ܢܗܘܐ ܘܫܘܚܢܐ ܘܫܘܢܩܐ ܘܩܡܨܐ ܦܪܚܐ ܘܙܚܠܐ ܟܕ ܢܗܘܐ ܟܕ ܢܥܝܩܘܢ ܠܗܘܢ ܒܥܠܕ̈ܒܒܐ ܒܐܪܥܗܘܢ ܘܒܩܘܪ̈ܝܗܘܢ ܟܠ ܡܟ̈ܬܫܝܢ ܘܟܘܠ ܟܐܒ̈ܝܢ
k'byn wkwl mkthshyn kl wbqwryhwn b'rehwn beldbb' lhwn neyqwn kd nhw' kd wzkhl' prkh' wqmts' wshwnq' wshwkhn' nhw' kd wmwthn' b're' nhw' kd wkpn'
“If there is famine in the land, if there is pestilence, if there is blight or mildew, locust or caterpillar; if their enemies besiege them in the land of their cities; whatever plague or whatever sickness there is—

ܟܘܠ ܨܠܘܬܐ ܘܒܥܘܬܐ ܕܬܗܘܐ ܠܟܠܗܘܢ ܒܢܝ̈ܢܫܐ ܠܟܘܠܗ ܥܡܟ ܐܝܣܪܝܠ ܕܢܣܝܒܪܘܢ ܓܒܪ ܟܐܒܐ ܕܠܒܗ ܘܢܐܬܐ ܘܢܦܪܘܣ ܐܝܕܘ̈ܗܝ ܒܒܝܬܐ ܗܢܐ
hn' bbyth' 'ydwhy wnprws wn'th' dlbh k'b' gbr dnsybrwn 'ysryl emk lkwlh bnynsh' lklhwn dthhw' wbewth' tslwth' kwl
whatever prayer and supplication is made by any man, or by all your people Israel, who will each know his own plague and his own sorrow, and shall spread out his hands toward this house,

ܘܐܢܬ ܬܫܡܥ ܒܩܠܐ ܕܨܠܘ̈ܬܗܘܢ ܡܢ ܫܡܝܐ ܘܬܫܒܘܩ ܠܚܘܒ̈ܝܗܘܢ ܘܬܦܪܘܥ ܠܓܒܪܐ ܐܝܟ ܟܘܠܗܝܢ ܐܘܪ̈ܚܬܗ ܕܝܕ̇ܥ ܐܢܬ ܠܒܗ ܡܛܠ ܕܐܢܬ ܝ̇ܕܥ ܐܢܬ ܒܠܚܘܕܝܟ ܠܒܗܘܢ ܕܟܠܗܘܢ ܒܢ̈ܝܢܫܐ
bnynsh' dklhwn lbhwn blkhwdyk 'nth yde d'nth mTl lbh 'nth dyde 'wrkhthh kwlhyn 'yk lgbr' wthprwe lkhwbyhwn wthshbwq shmy' mn dtslwthhwn bql' thshme w'nth
then hear from heaven your dwelling place and forgive, and give to every man according to all his ways, whose heart you know (for you, even you only, know the hearts of the children of men),

that they may fear you, to walk in your ways as long as they live in the land which you gave to our fathers.

if they return to you with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their captivity, where they have been taken captive, and pray toward their land which you gave to their fathers, and the city which you have chosen, and toward the house which I have built for your name;

then hear from heaven, even from your dwelling place, their prayer and their petitions, and maintain their cause, and forgive your people who have sinned against you.

“Now, my God, let, I beg you, your eyes be open, and let your ears be attentive to the prayer that is made in this place.
